Questions, answers and a change in the weather…

Greetings friends and a happy Friday to you all! It’s a sunny 60 degree morning here in NC and I am loving it! How’s the weather where you are?

***I just have to take a quick minute and thank all of you that read, respond and share our site. Our Facebook and Twitter pages light up with new followers everyday and GiGi and I couldn’t be more excited and grateful that our little spot has been so well received. Again, thank you!***

I may or may not have mentioned this but I will be taking my first trip across the pond next week, destination Ireland! This has been a dream of mine since my teenage years and I am excited to be taking two dear friends along. Ireland alone has drawn me to it for many years and now that it has been the backdrop to some pretty popular geek things, I am even more excited to explore the island country.
I have tried to compile research on authors, actors/directors/producers, artist and filming locations so that on top of my travel itinerary, I can capture the geektastic corners of Eire’ (if you have anything to add to my list, please do). I used my personal Twitter account to reach out to some of my favorite Irish (Irish descendent) actors and asked them to give me a “must see” location to scout while I am there. I only got one response but it was a BIG one. Donal Logue (SOA, Copper, Vikings) told me I must see the Ring of Kerry and while it was already on my list, I am taking an extra photo for him (he also tweeted the other actors I mentioned in the tweet). Very cool moment!!!
I will post an in depth itinerary before I go next week with a list of intended must sees (I will add any that are suggested).

Thursday nights are my hang out nights with my dear friends Chris and Dave. We usually watch an episode of the current tv show obsession (mostly American Horror Story) and then play a video game of some sort (Lego Avengers or Lego Movie currently). Last night was a tad more special because we were celebrating Chris’s birthday (as I will be in Ireland next Thursday). He cooked and I made the dessert (pic included). It was my first attempt at solo cupcake decorating and while I was pleased with my first timers end result, I can see where I went wrong (so be gentle). Chris is a DC Comic fan so I attempted Justice League cupcakes and made him a Batman themed Easter Basket filled with a Lego set, Batman cup and figurine.

I smile looking back at this as I realize that all of this sounds like a party for a child but yet we are in our thirties. I LOVE that about my friends, myself and the wonderful people I’m meeting in fandoms. There is a difference in childish and childlike. Growing up should be moving on from childish behaviors but expressing ourselves with childlike enthusiasm. After all, I don’t want to be some boring senior citizen when I get there, I want to be Stan Lee 😉

Have a great day!!!
