Congrats Benedict!!

‘Sherlock’ star Benedict Cumberbatch has been named one of the most influential people by Times Magazine. The list was released yesterday, on April 23rd. Cumberbatch joins fellow artists like Beyonce, Robert Redford, Pharrell Williams, Amy Adams, Matthew McConaughey, and director Steve McQueen, who directed Cumberbatch in the Oscar-winning movie ’12 Years A Slave.’

Fellow British actor Colin Firth, who worked alongside Cumberbatch in ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,’ has penned an article about Cumberbatch, writing: “It’s rare to the point of outlandish to find so many variables in one actor, including features which ought to be incompatible: vulnerability, a sense of danger, a clear intellect, honesty, courage — and a rather alarming energy. I take no pleasure in feeling humbled, but there’s no getting around it.”

Besides being known for his role as Sherlock, Cumberbatch is also famous for his movie breakthrough roles like Khan in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’, ‘August: Osage County,’ ’12 Years A Slave,’ Smaug and Sauron the Necromancer in ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,’ and in the upcoming third Hobbit movie ‘The Battle of the Five.’

In March 2015, Cumberbatch will be playing the title role in William Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’ in London.
