UPDATED: ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Has Officially Started Production

Updated: Another photo has been released via Bad Robot’s Twitter account from Pinewood Studios.

Today is the day! It’s actually happening!

Director J.J. Abrams has officially begun filming ‘Star Wars: Episode VII.’ The official Bad Robot Twitter account released the first photo of a clapboard from the first day of production.

Who’s excited? I know I am.

Directed by J.J. Abrams. Screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and J.J. Abrams. Produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk. John Williams will also return as composer. Stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Andy Serkis, John Boyega, Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Max von Sydow, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, and Anthony Daniels.

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
