‘Suicide Squad’ – Joel Kinnaman To Replace Tom Hardy

Looks like David Ayer finally found an actor to play Rick Flagg.

Hardy was originally set to play Flagg, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with Alejandro González Iñárritu’s ‘The Revenant‘ and the promotional tour of  ‘Mad Max: Fury Road.’ Jake Gyllenhaal, Joel Edgerton, Karl Urban, and Jon Bernthal were also being considered for the role.

Now, according to The Wrap, actor Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop and The Killing) is set to replace Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg in Warner Bros. and DC’s “Suicide Squad.” No comment has been made by Warner Bros. or by Kinnaman’s rep.

Kinnaman will join Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Viola Davis is still in negotiations to play Amanda Waller, while Jesse Eisenberg is still in talks to reprise his role as Lex Luthor.

What do you guys think? Does Kinnaman fit in?

Film’s plot:

Based on the DC comicbook, the story centers on the team of supervillains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.

Written and Directed by David Ayer. Produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle. Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson and Geoff Johns are serving as executive producers.

Stars: Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Jesse Eisenberg is still in talks to reprise his role as Lex Luthor.

‘Suicide Squad’ is set to be released on August 5th, 2016.
