Actor Doug Jones has been cast as Jake Simmons, a.k.a. Deathbolt. Jones makes his debut as Deathbolt in the upcoming 19th episode of ‘Arrow,’ titled “Broken Arrow.”

Deadbolt was first introduced in All-Star Squadron #21 back in 1983. He has the power to manipulate electricity and was known as “the living battery.” According to IGN, Simmons will “be a metahuman with the ability to harness and weaponize plasma energy” on ‘Arrow.‘ 

Jones is no stranger to comic book based movies. He is well-known for playing Abe Sapien in the Hellboy series, Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and as Thin Clown in Batman Returns.

‘Arrow’ airs Wednesdays at 8pm ET on The CW.
