A new still has been released, from EW’s Comic-Con issue, from ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2′ featuring Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss and Elizabeth Banks’ Effie.
In addition to Katniss and Effie, we will several other take charge-females, there’s ‘Game of Thrones’ stars Natalie Dormer (Cressida) and Gwendoline Christie (Commander Lyme), and ‘True Blood’s’ Michelle Forbes (Lieutenant Jackson). “There is some serious girl power in this movie,” director Francis Lawrence told EW, crediting author Suzanne Collins. “She wrote it that way, and it’s been so much fun to inhabit.”
The director also teased that the final installment will be a tear-jerker. “It’s probably the most emotional of the bunch,” he said. “And I think it’s the most satisfying of the bunch.”
Synopsis:
With the nation of Panem in a full-scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
