Disney Developing Live-Action ‘Aladdin’ Prequel

Aladdin

Disney has added yet another film to its list of live-action remakes list. The studio is currently developing a live-action prequel to the beloved 1992 animated Arabian folktale ‘Aladdin.’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney’s live-action comedy titled ‘Genies,’ will focus on the realm of the Genies and reveal how Aladdin’s Genie ended up enslaved in the lamp. “10,000 years will give you such a crick in the neck”

Ughhh..this news makes me sad. I can’t picture anyone else voicing the Genie.

Disney has a whole list of live-action remakes of its classic movies: Mulan, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Pinocchio, Winnie the Pooh, and a live-action movie of Prince Charming.

The film will be written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, and produced by Tripp Vinson, via his Vinson Films banner.
