Variety reports that Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones will join Matt Damon in the next installment of the ‘Bourne’ franchise. According to sources, Jones will play a superior officer at the CIA. Previously, Edward Norton, Chris Cooper and Brian Cox have played similar roles in the spy-thriller series. Plot details are unknown at this time. 

Actress Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) is officially on board. Julia Stiles is also set to reprise her role as Nicky Parsons. Viggo Mortensen rumored to play a villain.

Paul Greengrass is back to direct and writing the screenplay with Christopher Rouse. Frank Marshall will return as producer for the film with Damon, Greengrass, Jeffrey Weiner and Greg Goodman also producing. Christopher Rouse and Henry Morrison will serve as executive producers.

‘Bourne 5′ is set for release on July 29th, 2016.
