Here’s our first look at Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific from the fourth season of ‘Arrow.’ His character is described as a “tech savant, the openly gay character—played by comic Echo Kellum—is based on Michael Holt, a member of the Justice Society and Checkmate in the DC Comics universe.”
“Curtis is someone we started talking about [in the writers room] at the end of last year, out of a desire to fill in some gaps in terms of the cast and storytelling,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TVInsider. Kellum’s character shares one thing in common with Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer, Guggenheim says Mr. Terrific “fills the same role Brandon [Routh] filled last year,” but “no one will compare the two. It is really a different performance than Brandon’s.”
“Echo has quickly become an MVP of the cast,” raves Guggenheim. “I think a lot of people will compare him favorably to the addition of Emily in Season 1. He has this wonderful energy.”

The series stars Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, Katie Cassidy, Willa Holland, David Ramsey and Willa Holland, with John Barrowman and Paul Blackthorne.
Also starring: Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk, Alexander Calvert as Anarky, Echo Kellum as Mister Terrific, and Jimmy Akingbola.
Executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Wendy Mericle and Sarah Schechter. It is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
‘Arrow’ returns for its fourth season October 7 on the CW.
