Deadline reports that up-and-coming actress Melanie Liburd (The Grinder and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) has been cast in the upcoming sixth season of ‘Game of Thrones.’ Liburd has been cast as a Red Priestess and is NOT replacing  Carice Van Houten as Melisandre.

According to a leaked audition, Liburd is playing Kinvara a “High Priestess of the Red Temple of Volantis, the Flametruth, the light of wisdom, the first servant of the Lord of the Light.” She will cross paths with Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill) while visiting Meereen.

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 will air on HBO in spring 2016.
