Chewbacca Tweets Behind-the-Scenes Star Wars Photos

On his official Twitter account @TheWookieeRoars, Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set of the original Star Wars films. In one of his tweets, Mayhew said that he was feeling nostalgic after spending the weekend watching the Star Wars Original Trilogy marathon on Spike TV, so he decided to post some images.

Among the shots are Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, George Lucas, Chewbacca himself, Kenny, Warwick Davis (Willow and Harry Potter) , Stuart Freeborn and Yoda, and many more. Mayhew even added a bunch of silly captions to go with each photo.

Mayhew tweeted: “Again, These photos aren’t ‘unseen’. They’ve been out there a long time in various forms. I just been collecting them for 30+ years. Still about 1,200 pics in the archive.”

Here a few of the images he tweeted. To see more, go check out his Twitter account @TheWookieeRoars.

“Peter does not claim ownership of the majority of these photos. The copyright remains the possession of the original photographer. What Peter has done is collected and stored a vast number of photos over the years that have been submitted to him by fans, friends, and family. He is using them here under Fair Use policy, for the purposes of reviewing, critiquing and captioning. If you look hard enough, you can find most of them either online or in print. He’s just making them a little easier for you. ” [@TheWookieeRoars]
