Favorite Moments From The Oscars 2014

Welcome back, Ellen! It’s been seven years since Ellen last hosted the Oscars and kicked off the 86th Academy Awards with hilarious monologues, costume changes, epic selfies, free pizza moment, and more.

Here are some of my favorite jokes and moments from this year’s Oscars:

“If you win tonight, I think we should bring you the Oscar.” DeGeneres joked towards Jennifer Lawrence.

“We should get started. It’s going to be an exciting night. Anything can happen, so many different possibilities. Possibility number one: 12 Years a Slave wins best picture. Possibility number two: You’re all racists.”

“Who are we kidding? It’s the Hunger Games. I mean, there are cameras everywhere, you’re starving, Jennifer Lawrence won last year.”

“Between all the nominees here tonight, you’ve done over 1400 films, 1400 films, and you’ve gone to a total of six years of college.”

Pharrell Dances With Meryl Streep and Lupita Nyong’o:

Cate Blanchett’s acceptance speech:

Praise to her fellow nominees: “Amy Adams, everything you do, but your performance in American Hustle blew my mind, and Meryl, what can I say? Sandra, I could watch that performance to the end of time, and I sort of felt like I had. Julia, hashtag suck it. You know what I mean.” Blanchett joked. And Judi Dench… at the age of 79 her film is so successful that she is in India doing a sequel.”

Best Photobomb goes to Benedict Cumberbatch:

Ellen ordered pizza. She joked that she didn’t have money to pay for the pizza, saying:  “I borrowed Pharrell’s hat, and I thought I’d pass it around and get some money for the pizza.”

Steve McQueen and Lupita Nyong’o joyous celebration when ‘12 Years A Slave‘ won for Best Picture:

I think think they should have Ellen host the Oscars every year. What do you think?
