Virtual party dress

I have the good fortune of being a long time fan and new friend of author Gail Z. Martin (Chronicles of the Necromancer, The Fallen Kings, The Ascendent Kingdoms).

This past Wednesday she had an all day launch party via Facebook for her most recent book Deadly Curiosities (check it out on http://www.ascendantkingdoms.com). I was lucky enough to be invited to this party which included live conversations with about 20 authors (who gave away tons of freebies). In between clients at my day job, I would pop in and see who was featured at that time, what they wrote and what fellow fans were asking. When I was home from work I joined the party again and sifted through what I missed. I was blown away by the approachability and generosity of each and every author. I can’t imagine the attention it commanded to answer each and every question and also respond to every comment. Impressive!

Not only was this a great way to expose various audiences to Gail’s work, she allowed her fellow author friends to expose their work to various audiences. I’ve never been to a Facebook party before and could not have been more thrilled that my first one was of the literary kind! The idea was brilliant, I had loads of fun getting to know new (for me) authors and adding to my TBR (to be read) list. Below are some of the amazing authors that stood out to me from this event. If you are a reader, please go check them out and support them if you like what you see 🙂

  1. Hi CC – Thanks for the mention! Gail’s virtual party was my first, too. It was a blast! I’ve met a bunch of new folks and my TBR pile is almost to the ceiling now. 🙂 Loved your were-idea for Natasha! If she doesn’t write the book, you should! 🙂
