Marvel and Netflix have announced their latest addition to the cast for their upcoming series, ‘A.K.A. Jessica Jones.’ Actress Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Trilogy, Chocolat, Memento) will play a character named Harper.
Marvel’s character description:
A no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica…if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first.
Executive Producer/Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg and Jeph Loeb comments on casting Moss:
“Throughout her career, Carrie-Anne has embodied a wide range of characters in a compelling and relatable way and I have no doubt she will bring that talent to A.K.A. Jessica Jones,” said Rosenberg.
“Carrie-Anne has proven her ability to play complex characters with deep and layered inner lives,” said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer/Marvel’s Head of Television. “Her interaction with Jessica Jones will be one of the many highlights of the series.”
“After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter, ABC’s Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23) is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City. An enigmatic figure from Jessica’s past, Kilgrave’s reappearance will send shockwaves through the former super hero’s world.”
Cast: Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachel Taylor as Patsy Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Harper.
“Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
The all-new 13-episode series will premiere on Netflix in 2015 following Marvel’s ‘Daredevil.’
