Marvel Comics has announced a new all-female Avengers team known as the A-Force. The team will feature a variety of fan favorite badass female heroes from across the Marvel multiverse, “She-Hulk, Dazzler, Medusa, Nico Minoru and other fan favorites, will take charge,” says series co-writer G. Willow Wilson.
G. Willow Wilson had this to say in a statement:
“We’ve purposefully assembled a team composed of different characters from disparate parts of the Marvel U, with very different power sets, identities and ideologies. They’ll all have to come together to answer some big questions: what would you sacrifice to succeed? What is being a hero worth?” – via Mashable
“It feels almost like a great honor to be given the reins on something that has become so central to the narrative at Marvel and a big cinematic property as well,” Wilson told USA Today.
There’s also an all new character joining the team – the “cosmically powered” Singularity. Wilson said that Singularity was inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation’s enigmatic Q: “Her entire existence is so unlike that of ours that she really has to learn about what we think of as being an individual and having an identity from the ground up, with no point of access except those she meets.” – via USA Today
Within the Warzones! of Secret Wars, a brand new team will lead the way. A-Force Assemble! Marvel Comics reimagines the Marvel Universe in one of the largest shake-ups to the Avengers mythos.
The cover art from Jim Cheung features She-Hulk, Dazzler, Medusa, Nico Minoru, Rogue, Jean Grey as Phoenix, Storm, Wasp, Elektra, Aurora, Spectrum, Black Widow, Hellcat, Jubilee, Meduca, Firestar, Vindicator, Moondragon, Rescue, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, Karoline Dean, Snowbird, Storm, Singularity (a new character), Scarlet Witch, Pixie, and Dazzler.
Marvel Comics’ A-Force co-written by G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel) and Marguerite K. Bennett (Angela: Asgard’s Assassin, Max Ride: First Flight) with artwork by Jorge Molina (X-Men).

I’m delighted to see Medusa, my second favorite Inhuman, prominently on the cover. Right on!
