The Wrap is reporting that Latin actor Jay Hernandez (Friday Night Lights, Hostel, Crazy/Beautiful, Gang Related) is in talks to join David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad.’ 

The role remains a mystery at this time, but The Wrap speculates that, “it’s possible that he could be playing an inmate on the same cell block as The Joker, though there are several other open roles at this time.”

If Hernandez does get cast, he will star alongside Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Viola Davis is still in negotiations to play Amanda Waller, while Jesse Eisenberg is still in talks to reprise his role as Lex Luthor.

Film’s plot:

Based on the DC comicbook, the story centers on the team of supervillains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.
