On the red carpet at the 87th Academy Awards, Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder, The Help) confirmed to CTV’s eTalk that she will be playing Amanda Waller in David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad.’

CTV’s eTalk asked her if she will be in Toronto this summer to shoot the movie. She was hesitant to respond, but finally said, “Yes.” Her husband was more enthusiastic and shouted, “Amanda Waller is in the house!”

Film’s plot:

Based on the DC comicbook, the story centers on the team of supervillains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.

Written and Directed by David Ayer. Produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle. Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson and Geoff Johns are serving as executive producers.

Stars: Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Jesse Eisenberg is still in talks to reprise his role as Lex Luthor.

‘Suicide Squad’ is set to be released on August 5th, 2016.
