These two guys are amazing!!
Last month, Chris Pratt made good on his Super Bowl bet and made a trip to Christopher’s Haven dressed as Star-Lord. On Saturday, Chris Evans made good on his promise and visited Seattle Children’s Hospital dressed as Captain America.
Chris Evans and Chris Pratt posed for photos, passed out toys, and chatted with the patients and their families.
Maggie Mittelstaedt, an 18-year-old patient being treated at the hospital after a hip replacement, said “I was so excited when I heard they were planning to come to Seattle Children’s. Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avenger movies are my favorites, so I was hoping I might get a chance to meet them.”
Tyler Gower, a 14-year-old diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, was speechless when Captain America and Chris Pratt walked into his room. “It gave Tyler five minutes of happiness,” his mom, Allison, said of the visit. “This situation will never be normal, but their visit helped make us feel special.”
Oskar Beechum, a 7-year old being treated for epilepsy, lit up when he saw Evans dressed as Captain America. “Meeting them was a nice reprieve for us,” Oskar’s mom Kelli said. “So many of our visitors are doctors, and the conversations are medical. I can’t wait to watch the Captain America movie with Oskar. It will be like he knows him personally now.”
“Thanks to @Disney for all your magic to make this visit possible and for sending Captain America his suit.” the hospital tweeted on Saturday afternoon. “Meeting Captain America and Star-Lord is an experience our patients will always remember.”
Since their bet in January, Pratt and Evans have helped raise more than $27,000 for Seattle Children’s and Christopher’s Haven.
