According to The Wrap, Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline have joined the cast of Disney’s live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast.
Thompson will play Mrs. Potts, voiced by Angela Lansbury in the original animated movie, while Kevin Kline will play Belle’s father, Maurice.
Eight-time Oscar-winner Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards for the 1991 animated classic, will score the film, which will feature new recordings of the original songs in addition to several new songs written by Menken and Sir Tim Rice.
Thompson and Kline will star opposite Emma Watson as Belle, Luke Evan as the boorishly handsome Gaston, Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince, and Josh Gad as LeFou.
