According to Deadline, Broadway star Ciara Renée has been cast as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl in the upcoming ‘Arrow/The Flash’ spinoff series.

Character description:

“Kendra Saunders is a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker…Hawkgirl.”

Renée joins a cast that includes Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Victor Garber, Caity Lotz.

Renée has appeared in the Broadway production of Big Fish and Pippin, and made her first TV debut on an episode of Law & Order: SVU.

‘Arrow’ creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim are working with Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions to develop the spinoff.
