Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beyond the Lights, Jupiter Ascending) is the latest actress to join the cast of Disney’s live-action adaptation of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ According to Variety, Mbatha-Raw will be playing the role of Plumette, the feather duster.
Love the cast selection and can’t wait to see it. I think they should cast Tom Hiddleston as Lumière. What do you guys think?
Eight-time Oscar-winner Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards for the 1991 animated classic, will score the film, which will feature new recordings of the original songs in addition to several new songs written by Menken and Sir Tim Rice.
According to Disney, “The beloved tale will be retold for the big screen with a modern live-action lens and the help of transformative CG magic.”
Starring: Emma Watson as Belle, Luke Evan as the boorishly handsome Gaston, Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince, Josh Gad as LeFou, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, and Kevin Kline as Belle’s father, Maurice.
