Following yesterdays confirmation of Alfre Woodard role as Harlem politician Mariah Dillard in Marvel’s third Netflix series ‘Luke Cage,’ we have our first on-set look at Woodard alongside co-star Mahershala Ali, who portrays Dillard’s cousin Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. Check it out!
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Cast includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Theo Rossi as Shades (a.k.a. Alvarez), Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard and Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. Rosario Dawson reprising her Daredevil role as Claire Temple.
Cheo Hodari Coker (“SouthLAnd,” “Ray Donovan”) will write the series’ first two episodes in addition to serving as showrunner and Executive Producer.
‘Luke Cage’ is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2016.
