Actor Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction, Ray Donovan) is the latest addition to the cast of ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage.’ Whaley is set to play Detective Rafael Scarfe, a hard-nosed NYPD detective who partners with Misty Knight in their Luke Cage investigation.
“Frank Whaley has a wiry intensity that he’s imbued in Det. Rafael Scarfe,” said Cheo Hodari Coker. “He’s a great counterpart to Misty, and a wonderful actor.”
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Cast includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Theo Rossi as Shades (a.k.a. Alvarez), Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard and Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. Rosario Dawson reprising her Daredevil role as Claire Temple.
Cheo Hodari Coker (“SouthLAnd,” “Ray Donovan”) will write the series’ first two episodes in addition to serving as showrunner and Executive Producer.
‘Luke Cage’ is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2016.
