I just finished my copy and I am soooooooo excited to be on board with this series…
CONFESSION time! I know almost nothing about Assassin’s Creed (yes, yes, feel free to insert shock and awe) beyond that it is a widely popular video game who’s style has always appealed to me even though I haven’t gotten around to actually playing it, yet, and the cosplay I’ve seen in this genre is something to behold.
AC has been on my “must get caught up on” list for over a year now BUT when I found out Titan Comics/Ubisoft was releasing a series with a Female lead, I decided to wait and discover the world of the Assassins through Charlotte’s eyes…

As my instincts originally showed me, after one issue, I am HOOKED. Right away Charlotte’s attitude and world view are something I can relate to, right down to the student loans…She’s relatable = Plus!
The idea that the video game she is playing is actually the “testing device” of a secret organization is brilliant.
Charlotte is recruited to the Brotherhood by the ideally firm and task driven “team leader” Xavier, the fiery Galina and Kody the tech guy. The fact that she immediately says “I’m in” at the mention of the Brotherhood made me let out an audible “YESssss” (although I am only basing that on the vigilante justice vibe I am picking up). She jumps in head first! Gumption! This gals got it!
The team is set up in what looks like a deserted resort in the middle of nowhere and after minimal adjustment to the news she’s just received, the team uses the Animus technology they have acquired to send Charlotte into the memory of one of her ancestors…what memory you ask? Try Salem Village 1692 (oh HELL yeah!!) (ok, yes, I have Salem thing, can’t explain).
Her first “trip” wreaks a little bodily havoc but is shaken off and, heavily prodded by Xavier, Charlotte quickly returns for Round 2…like I said before GUMPTION!!!

Just in case I haven’t made it clear, I DIG it! Charlotte’s “I’m not even going to hesitate about this” mentality, the entire exit from Charlotte’s apartment scene, the “in shambles” lair…Galina…KODY…Salem…ALL of it!!
***Don’t even get me started on Charlotte’s look on the cover. Let’s just say I have recently gotten back into sewing and the jacket WILL be the FIRST major project I undertake***
SUPER EXCITED to watch this all unfold and find out all about this Assassin business 🙂 🙂 🙂
