Benedict Wong Cast As Doctor Strange’s Sidekick

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Benedict Wong (The Martian, Marco Polo, Prometheus) has joined the cast of Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange.’ Wong will play Wong, Doctor Strange’s sidekick and manservant. 

“Wong, the character, is a Marvel mainstay, having been around since the 1960s. He performs healing duties, assists in occult matters, is knowledgeable in martial arts and tends to Strange’s affairs. Among his functions is to look after Strange’s body when the hero is astral projecting himself into other dimensional planes.”

Wong joins Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton and Mads Mikkelsen.

‘Doctor Strange’ tells the story of Stephen Strange (Cumberbatch), an acclaimed neurosurgeon who uncovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions after a near-fatal car accident. The film will show audiences corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe never before explored.

Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” is produced by Kevin Feige with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Charles Newirth, Stephen Broussard and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.

Stars: Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams as the female lead, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Baron Mordo, Mads Mikkelsen, Amy Landecker and Michael Stuhlbarg.

‘Doctor Strange’ opens in theaters November 4, 2016.
