After the success of Jon Favreau’s live-action movie ‘The Jungle Book,’ Walt Disney Studios have confirmed that it is developing nine live-action movies currently in development.
Here’s the full list and details:
- The Jungle Book 2 – with both director Jon Favreau and writer Justin Marks returning.
- A Wrinkle in Time – with Ava DuVernay (Selma) attached to direct and Jennifer Lee (Frozen) writing.

- Cruella – with Emma Stone set for the title role and Kelly Marcel writing (Saving Mr. Banks).
- Jungle Cruise – with Dwayne Johnson set to star and John Requa (Crazy, Stupid, Love; Focus) and Glenn Ficarra writing.
- Dumbo – with director Tim Burton and writer Ehren Kruger (The Brothers Grimm, Transformers 3 & 4).
- Maleficent 2 – Angelina Jolie will reprise her role, with Maleficent screenwriter Linda Woolverton penning the script.
- The Nutcracker and the Four Realms – directed by Lasse Hallström (Chocolate,The Hundred-Foot Journey) and written by relative newcomer Ashleigh Powell.
- A Tinker Bell movie – with Reese Witherspoon set to star and Victoria Strouse (Finding Dory) writing.
- Mary Poppins 2 – with director Rob Marshall (Into the Woods), starring Emily Blunt (Into The Woods) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway’s Hamilton).
