Electric Sheep and Clockwork Goats
By Gail Z. Martin and Larry N. Martin

Couldn’t tell you whether or not androids dream of electric sheep, but we can say, with authority, that clockwork goats are here to stay.

Our story in Gaslight and Grimm, “The Patented Troll”, is a Steampunk riff on the old “Three Billy Goats Gruff” story, with a wind-up twist for good measure.

Martin

“Three Billy Goats Gruff “is a very simple story, as fairy tales go—a bridge, a troll, and three wily goats. In the original, the story hinges on the trickery of how the goats get past the troll. In our story, the ‘how’ is less important than the ‘why’—and what’s on the other side of the bridge.

In fact, just to up the ante, we’ll let it slip that it’s actually a post-apocalyptic spin on the fairy tale, with a little bit of I, Robot and Bladerunner thrown in, for fun. Does that get your attention?

Good. Now go buy the anthology and start reading!
