Entertainment Weekly have released the first tills from Guy Ritchie’s ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ (it was originally called Knights Of The Round Table: King Arthur). The new stills give us our first look at Charlie Hunnam as Arthur Pendragon and Jude Law as the villainous Vortigern.
Hunnam shares some insight about the film’s version of King Arthur. “He’s a bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor. There’s definitely a harder edge than people would imagine.”
Jude Law plays the tyrannical uncle. “As the murderer of his brother and Arthur’s dad Uther Pendragon (Eric Bana) and the usurper of the throne, Vortigern has done more than enough to earn his nephew’s wrath, but backing him is a set of deadly magical powers that give him the upper hand.”
Synopsis:
The project is a re-imagining of the legend of King Arthur, believed to have been a 6th century king who defended Britain against Saxon invaders. The key source material for the film will be Thomas Mallory’s “Le Morte d’Arthur,” published in 1485 as a compilation of French and English tales.
Directed by Guy Ritchie. Starring: Charlie Hunnam as Arthur Pendragon, Djimon Hounsou as Bedivere, Jude Law as Vortigern, Eric Bana as Uther Pendragon, Aiden Gillen as Goosefat Bill, Mikael Persbrandt, and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Guinevere.
‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ arrives in theaters on March 24th, 2017.
