Marvel,via TV Insider, has released the official key art for their upcoming Netflix series ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage.’ Designed by famed comic book artist and Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Joe Quesada, this awesome poster will be available for fans at the Marvel booth at San Diego Comic-Con, July 20–24.
“There’s always great pressure with superhero posters,” Quesada told TV Insider. “You’ve got one shot to encapsulate a character with a pose that’s provocative and that you hope will someday be iconic.”
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Cast includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Theo Rossi as Shades (a.k.a. Alvarez), Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard and Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. Rosario Dawson reprising her Daredevil role as Claire Temple.
Cheo Hodari Coker (“SouthLAnd,” “Ray Donovan”) will write the series’ first two episodes in addition to serving as showrunner and Executive Producer.
‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’ will premiere on Netflix on September 30th, 2016.
