Here’s what Taylor had to say about the project:
“Tarzan and A Princess of Mars set the template for so much genre fiction that to the new reader they seem instantly familiar because of the legacy they’ve created. Both of these books have been ill served by contemporary cinema, so it was great to have an opportunity to create posters that were free from the limitations of having to match up to existing visions of the characters and instead present my own take to, I hope, better match the tone of the writing.
Tarzan and John Carter are both men cut off from the worlds they know, so I thought it would be apt to have them isolated in their surroundings. It was a real pleasure to work on these posters and have Black Dragon give me this unique chance to tackle properties which are a little off the beaten path.”
“Tarzan Of The Apes” and “A Princess Of Mars” by Matt Taylor will go on sale September 16th, 2016 at 4pm UK time/10am EST at Black Dragon Press’ store.
