Nicole Kidman and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II  are in early talks to join the DC Extended Universe, according to THR.

The Oscar-winning actress is in talks to play Atlanna, the Atlantean mother of Aquaman, while actor Abdul-Mateen II, best known for his work on Netflix’s The Get Down, would portray his nemesis Black Manta.

If deals are reached, the two will join an ensemble led by Jason Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Aquaman’s love interest, Willem Dafoe as Aquaman’s science advisor, Dr. Vulko and Patrick Wilson as Orm, the villain half-brother of the title character.

‘Aquaman’ is scheduled to hit theaters on October 5th, 2018.
