CBS have released, via Entertainment Weekly, the first look at Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter films, The OA) as Gabriel Lorca, “a steely Federation Starship Captain who’s considered a brilliant military tactician.”

The image below also gives us a glimpse of the bridge of the U.S.S. Discovery.

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY will follow the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. As an added bonus, Star Trek: Discovery has expanded its original series order from 13 to 15 episodes—which means even more sci-fi goodness in Season 1.

CBS All Access has also announced that Star Trek: Discovery is getting its very own after-show, called Talking Trek.
