Ahead of their panel at San Diego Comic Con this Friday, AMC has released an awesome key art, new still, and premiere date with the highly-anticipated eighth season of ‘The Walking Dead.’
The post-apocalyptic zombie drama will return on Sunday, October 22nd, which will also mark the shows 100th episode.
AMC has also released a new still, via Entertainment Weekly, shows Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie(Lauren Cohan) ready for war against Negan.
Showrunner Scott M. Gimple promises that Season 8 “will find itself firmly in the “All Out War” arc from the comic book.” “We have basically set the stage for All Out War,” says Gimple. “Negan’s said it, everybody has seen they’re in it. It will play out quickly and propulsively and attentively and will shift around the focus quite a bit between the different places and battlegrounds and characters and communities.”
Gimple goes on to say that Rick’s swagger is back. “His swagger is definitely back,” says Gimple. “But it’s a measured swagger. It’s a focused swagger. He absolutely has it and you will see it in episode 1.”
‘The Walking Dead’ will return for its eighth season on October 22nd, 2017.
