In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tessa Thompson talked about shooting the fight scene.
That fight was so much fun. So much fun,” says Thompson. “First of all. the choreography was really punchy and physical, not as much sword work which sort of keeps you at arm’s length with people. I think because Tom’s character is involved there’s a cheekiness to that fight that made it just really fun — it just felt like a tennis match. I don’t know if it remains but there were a lot of one-liners between us. So it has a real sort of sense of humor.”
Thompson went on to say that her character seems to share more in common with Loki than with Thor.
“Eventually she figures out Loki’s not to be trusted,” she said. “I just think there’s something about two folks that kind of come from the same place in a sense, that have the same chip on their shoulder in a way. There’s a thin line between how much they hate and love each other.”
Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
Thor’s new cast members join returning stars Chris Hemsworth in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston as Thor’s adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Idris Elba as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; and Academy Award-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard.
“Thor: Ragnarok,” the third installment of Marvel’s popular Norse Super Hero, is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Taika Waititi. Kevin Feige will produce the film, joined by executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee.
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ hits theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
