Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Won’t Be Back For ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

During a recent interview with Larry King, Stewart was asked if he was going to be in Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse.’ Stewart replied, “No. Nor Sir Ian McKellen, either.” Not the news I wanted to hear.

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have appeared in every ‘X-Men’ movie except for Matthew Vaughn’s ‘X-Men: First Class.’

“I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters,” Stewart added. “And so I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance.”

Directed by Bryan Singer. Stars: Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ opens in theaters on May 7, 2016.
