5 Fandom Friday: My Top 5 Favorite OTP/Romantic On-Screen Pairings

fandom.5.friday

It’s 5 Fandom Friday! 5 Fandom Friday, a geeky themed link-up hosted by The Nerdy Girlie and SuperSpaceChick. Today’s topic is: Favorite Fictional Couples I Ship, but I’m going to change it up.

“I am weird, you are weird. Everyone in this world is weird. One day, two people come together in mutual weirdness and fall in love.” – Dr Seuss

Love is in the air! Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, and it goes hand in hand with this topic. So I have to admit, I’m a sucker a for sweeping romance movies and shows.

I don’t really do the whole shipping thing, though I ship Caryl (The Walking Dead), and Olicity (Arrow), but that’s all I have.

So here are my Top 5 Favorite OTP/Romantic On-screen pairings. I might go old school on a few.

1. Doctor Who – Amy and Rory:

“Together or Nothing At All.” There’s nothing more to say. I’m going to curl into a fetal position and weep quietly now.

2. Pride and Prejudice – Lizzie and Mr. Darcy:

“You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.” If only men still spoke like that.

3. You’ve Got Mail – Joe and Kathleen:

“Don’t cry, Shopgirl. Don’t cry.”

I adore You’ve Got Mail. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan playoff each other so well. The last scene when she notices it that it was him all along. And when she tells him, “I wanted it to be you. I wanted it to be you so badly.” Oh my goodness..I cry all the time. Such a sweet and perfect moment. Plus it doesn’t help that “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is playing during the scene.

4. An Affair to Remember – Nick and Terry:

I’m a sucker for classic movies. One of my favorite movies with Cary Grant is An Affair to Remember. The greatest love story in my book. If you haven’t seen this movie, please do.

5. Sleepless in Seattle – Sam and Annie:

“It’s you. “It’s me”

I love Tom Hanks! The man can do no wrong. And like I said above, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan playoff each other so well.

I hope you enjoyed my list. Which fictional couples do you ship? Who’s your favorite OTP/Romantic on-screen pairing(s)? Let me know below.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!
