In the new trailer for Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage,’ we get a look at Cage’s origins — “I was put in some tank, like an exotic fish. Came out with abilities.” He just wants to be left alone.
“Sometimes if you want justice,” Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) tells Cage, “you have to get it for yourself.”
“You might be bulletproof,” former NYPD officer Misty Knight (Simone Missick) tells Cage, “but Harlem ain’t.”

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Cast includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Theo Rossi as Shades (a.k.a. Alvarez), Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard and Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. Rosario Dawson reprising her Daredevil role as Claire Temple.
Cheo Hodari Coker (“SouthLAnd,” “Ray Donovan”) will write the series’ first two episodes in addition to serving as showrunner and Executive Producer.
‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’ will premiere on Netflix on September 30th, 2016.
